Daniel Wilner is an LA-based writer and director for film, television, and theatre. 

Dan is currently developing his first feature film, CLOSE TO HIM, with Executive Producer Mark Gordon. His short films have aired on Netflix, the Bravo! Channel, and Aeon digital magazine.

​Dan is the founder and Artistic Director of The Open Circle Theatre Company, based in LA.  He directed and produced the Company's first production, Samuel Beckett's Waiting for Godot.

Dan holds a B.A. from Harvard and an M.A. from Oxford, where he studied as a Rhodes Scholar. Along the way, he worked extensively in the theatre, most notably playing the title role in Hamlet and directing Albee’s Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf? and Martin McDonagh’s The Pillowman.

He is a former Trustee of The Hotchkiss School and a student and practitioner of Zen Buddhism.
